    Designing Websites The Bad Way

    Compare this with this.

The second file was the one which I originally desgined (with the pictures in it). The first file is what IT turned it into with their meddling little ways. I got an email from them saying:

“I was very impressed with how you managed to keep the general look and feel of the new KCC templates without having the original files. Despite the fact that there are accessibility issues regarding the floating side navigation, the page is quite impressive.”

Thanks, very nice of you to say so. It is a shame that you ripped the page apart and put it in that loveley yellow/greem thing. I am coughing up stuff which is almost that exact color at the moment. Lovely.

    Old Job

    vnmDSC_0090.jpg
These are stealth pictures off my small camera. This is my old job. If you look closely at the screen you can see, not work, but Webcrimon. Yup.
    vnmDSC_0091.jpg
This is the old ladies who sat behind me and monitered my internet use. It was these people who I had to be careful of in case they saw the rude pictures that someone had put on the prettyshady book. I miss their banter now though
    vnmDSC_0093.jpg
    New job:
I had to go round and put up lots of posters about European Mobility Week, including this one. Then I had to go round and take them down again. Fascinating.

I’m not living, I’m just killing time.

Ok, let me give you an insight into my fantasticly exciting life. Tongight the weekend starts at 6 with the Simpsons. Classic TV. When that’s finished there’s nothing else on the box for a bit so I’ll cook some tea. Lasagne tonight I think.

story.chandlerThen the weekend really gets going at 8.30 with Friends. In reality I will be on msn, making some internet, but this will be on in the background I expect.

Friends is funny sometimes. Rebekah doesn’t find much stuff funny. This is especially true for Friends. It is pretty cheesy sometimes, and it is usually bad but every now and then there is a funny one liner.

What annoys me about it, especailly the more recent episodes is that the characters are so over characterised that it becomes ridiculous, and not funny.

gallery.simpsons.triviaNext up is new Simpsons. This is a watcher. Since it’s new i will probably record it as well so i have something to watch the rest of the time when nothing is on.

I really like the simpsons. I have about 10 videos all taped off the TV which I watch at lunchtime. Before I had The Office DVD the simpsons would just be on non-stop, but now they are interspersed with Animals and The Office.

It’s not the one with Blink 182 in tonight, it was just first picture I found.

showcard2_tml_top.jpgvickyfromthesun.jpgRight now it’s 21:30. This is a tough choice. Do i go for the new series of Little Britain, or Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere. Peter Kay is funny, but I haven’t seen Little Britain for ages. I think I will record Max and Paddy, as I can leave the video running, and watch Little Britain.

peepshow_SC_t_sept03.jpgNext up is something I’ve only got into recently – Peepshow. This is areally wierd program. It’s is quite funny, really cringing, and strangly fascinating.

It’s about this strange guy who spys on this girl he fancys. It’s got a commentry in it, which usually makes programmes really bad, but it works in this.

jr.jpgThis thrilling evening will then be finished off with Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, although if you are hardcore there is also Father Ted, Punk’d, and Bo! Selecta on Channel 4.

Jonathan Ross can be funny sometimes too, but it is quite rare – it depends what guests he has on. Tonight there is Matt Lucas and David Walliams being interviewed which will probably be funny. U2 are also on which might be interesting although I am not a big fan.

    That killed 5 minutes.

    Ebay for Christmas

splash.jpgI’ve got a load more stuff on ebay in time for Christmas, so start bidding. Go on, you won’t even have to pay postage if I know you. A coat for 1p. Bargin.

Or you could get this great film. I watched it today. It stars Tom Hanks, who everyone loves, and John Candy, who is fat and funny. Basically Tom Hanks is stressed so he goes to the sea, falls in and nearly drowns, looses his wallet, and then gets saved by a mermaid. She then finds his wallet and goes onto land to look for him (she gets legs when she’s dry), they fall in love and then she has to go back home (something to do with the moon), but he can’t go with her as he can’t swim. There’s also some stuff about the govenment wanting to catch the mermaid, which gives you a classic car chase scene.

I won’t give away the ending, so you’ll have to buy the dvd to find out… but it is happy.

    Cross Country Missions

    betsycoed_0002.jpg
This weekend we went on a trip to Wales. I was ill all weekend which was pretty bad but there was fun to be had. There are lots of pictures on my cameras, but I haven’t taken them off yet so you’ll have to make do with last years pictures here for now.

Mountain biking has a place and can be a lot of fun too, if it’s not too cold and wet and dark.

    NOiD

clothing5.jpgNoid co is a new website run by Tom and Nigel (and me). The site covers the Tenterden scene as well as the trips we go on. Noid co also sells products. At the moment there are only t-shirts, but hopefully soon there will be hoodys and hardware.

That picture on the right is one of the t-shirt designs. Most of the stuff is designed by Tom I think. He is studying art or something at Epsom and all the designs are really good. Nigel did photography at college and now does some freelance work, so the photos on the site are really good as well.

So any way, go to the site and buy a t-shirt. Tom: I haven’t got your designs yet. Also, you should set up a Noid paypal account so people can pay for their stuff straight into that. (like for the barend dvd which I bought yesterday)

    The Shawshank Redemption

    shawshank.jpg
This has got to be one of the best films I have EVER seen. it truly is so so good. The story follows this guy called Andy Dufrane, who gets jailed for murder basically. im really really crap at writing reviews so im not gonna speak for that long. when you get to the end you just realise how everything fits together. what amazes me about this film is that it did so appallingly at the box office. it bombed really badly, so they pulled it out of the cinema, and sent it pretty much straight to video. it has to be in my top five films ever, if not top because it is sooo good. i recommend everyone in the world to watch this film. morgan freeman is so incredible in it, as is tim robbins. i havent really seen tim robbins in much else since apart from high fidelity (also a very good film). but basically if you like good films then you will probably like the shawshank redemption. go watch it!

someone rereview this because its crap.
